Myself and Gary have had Mastiffs for over 9 years now but have only started breeding in the last 5. Since then we have met alot of mastiff breeders.Some I have cared for others I would like to forget.In the beginning for us it was rough alot of local breeders were tough on us. But it was through this that made my strive to look more into my pedigree learn more about what I had and where I was going with all of this.That is why I ask people please call or e-mail me we know how it is to be new or to try to find a
lineage you like. .My door is always open to those who truely care about the welfare of the breed.But it is hard to find true friends without hidden agendas.So if you find someone that was with you from the start when you had nothing and is still there for you without give me this or that hold on to them.They are your true friends I tell people I only have 5 close friends the others are acquaintances.I am always here to help no matter what time of the day. Until I get screwed then I have no time.I am the type that is upfront about things.
As for my breeding program:.
Myself I breed for what I like and what I need for my breeding program. Most of my breedings are planned 3 or 4 generations ahead of themselves..I keep the best of what I have produced for myself to add to my breeding program and most others are placed on limited registeration.Not that they are not worthy of being show or bred just my choice only a few of my dogs go out on Full registraion..
At Dreamquest we do not follow others in there breeding programs.Nor do I ask others how they feel about my breedings practices We do what is right for us to create the total packaged Mastiff with depth, muscle, and bulk.We take great pride in our boys but my girls are what is most precious to us.We know that a well bred bitch is the key to most breeding programs.
I have studied my pedigrees closely and try to pick the best possible breedings.This has taken me
on nice long car rides but it is worth it to see what I am breeding to.Lately I have concentrated on trying to bring back some of the older lineage.Greco,Falmorehall,and Hollesley.I love the older look of the mastiff a broad thick robust dog one able to be a working dog.
Mastiffs as a breed are the best animals on earth to be loved by a mastiff is truely a blessing. All
of our dogs reside with us until they die.Please take particular attention to this a breeder that places there dogs after breeding or if one does not turn out places them do not truely know what it is like to be loved by this breed. Never could I place a dog or bitch when it has been bred or been a big part of my life.
Last bit about my family:
We moved in December because my father came to live with us he has throat cancer and a fungal infection from Agent orange. This place is wonderful but without him none of this would of been possible. The dogs have there own place to sleep and run. We have fenced in about a 1/2 acre for them to run they also have a pond to swim in and tons of animals to chase. I have been blessed to have this house and my family.Hopefully my father will be around to see my children have children. At Dreamquest we are a tight family sometimes to tight. We would be honored to have you a part of our family
